Raleigh, NC (May 26, 2016) – mpiTOO, a subsidiary of Media Partners, Inc., took top awards at last week’s Virginia Public Relations Awards held at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond. The awards recognized a milestone organizational change for Renovation Alliance, previously known as Rebuilding Together Roanoke, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the homes and lives of low-income homeowners.
mpiTOO received a Commonwealth Award for integrated communications and a branding focus that re-introduced the organization to its constituents and recognized evolving needs of the community. Support included focus group research, brand development, creative development, advertising and public relations. Creative materials introduced the Alliance with roofline imagery suggesting partner agencies and volunteers united in mission. The tagline restoring homes, lives and communities followed.
“It’s exciting to be recognized by our Virginia colleagues for work that came to mean so much to all of us,” said mpiTOO Partner Sal Conino. “Renovation Alliance helps people stay in their homes by making adaptations for the elderly or handicapped, or by purchasing homes in disrepair and renting them back to their owners. With a new name and a new brand identity, the organization is poised to serve more families and work more closely with partner agencies.”
mpiTOO also received a Capital Award for media relations promoting a signature housing workday at the home of a veteran. A press conference with Roanoke’s mayor leveraged Virginia housing research and demonstrated how rebuilding and restoring homes can impact overall quality of life.
In the end, 2015 was a year of growth for Renovation Alliance. It provided critical home repairs for 139 low-income homeowners and their families. These were 30 more home repairs in comparison to previous years.
“We are honored that mpiTOO is becoming a distinctive partner for nonprofit organizations in Virginia and NC,” said mpiTOO Partner Nancy Bono. “These awards reflect the strength of our team and the impactful work we offer nonprofit organizations.”
