Demand for healthcare professionals has skyrocketed, and hiring has gotten more competitive. Now, it’s not enough to simply advertise an open position – we need to advertise benefits, education assistance, retirement plans, and more.
As the article highlights, it’s an additional challenge to fill positions that require long hours and numerous prerequisites. “Roughly five years ago, there were 15 to 20 applicants per open position, says Joe Kellner, vice president of emergency services and community programs at Northern Light. Today, however, it’s not uncommon to post a job and have zero applicants respond, he said.” This shows that recruiters need to both make the job posting attractive and ensure it reaches a large audience.
