CENTRAL CAROLINA HOSPITAL ARTERIAL BLOOD GAS LABORATORY RECEIVES ACCREDITATION FROM COLLEGE OF AMERICAN PATHOLOGIST

Sanford, NC  — February 15, 2013 – Central Carolina Hospital Arterial Blood Gas Laboratory, Sanford, North Carolina based on results of a recent on-site inspection as part of the CAP’s Accreditation Programs.

The facility’s director, Steven M. Jurisich, MD, was advised of this national recognition and congratulated for the excellence of the services being provided.  Central Carolina Hospital Arterial Blood Gas Laboratory is one of more than 7,000 CAP-accredited facilities worldwide.

Durham Based Horizon Productions Wins Emmy for Documentary

DURHAM, NC – “Birth of a Colony,” a film by three North Carolina organizations about the state’s early history, won the Best Documentary/Historical Film award at the Midsouth Emmy Awards on Saturday, Jan. 26. “Birth of a Colony” presents the story of North Carolina from the 1524 arrival of European explorers to the close of the Tuscarora War in 1713.

Horizon Productions, UNC-TV, and the N.C. Department of Cultural Resources collaborated to produce this first in a planned series. At the ceremony held in Nashville, TN, Horizon Productions’ President Donna Mitchell and Vice President Tim Finkbiner accepted the Emmy award. Both were deeply involved with the “Birth of a Colony” film’s planning, development, production and distribution.

Senior Veterans Visit Military Bases with Invitation For Service Men and Women

Eight…Eighties Are Title Sponsors of Freedom Classic

Kinston, N.C. (February 5, 2013) The Freedom Classic is coming soon, and the Eight…Eighties of Kinston are in the process of visiting area bases to talk about the upcoming baseball series while they deliver C-shirts to wounded warriors.  Their goal is to bring 3,000 members of the military and their families to Kinston for an outing at Historic Grainger Stadium.  Why? They simply want to say thank you.

The Eight…Eighties group, also known as the Wounded Warrior Team, is a title sponsor for the 3rd Annual Freedom Classic, a series that will bring the Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy to Historic Grainger Stadium for a four-game event, February 22-24.
